There are many ways in EOS to optimize your equipment.
In the following text i will explain you, what you can do.

Jewels[]

Basic[]

Jewels are used to upgrade equipment with different stats.
Every Jewel gives different stats to different equipment and every part of the equipment has its own gem with own stats.
They can also have ranks and can be enhanced by combining two of the same rank.
While questing and killing monsters, you will obtain jewels.
These jewels go into armor and weapons to enhance them.

There are seven types of jewels each corresponding to a different type of gear:

Jewel Type Picture Effect Inlay On
Ruby Rubin Increases ATK Weapons
Sapphire Saphir Increases ACC Gauntlets
Onyx Onyx Increases CRIT ACC Helm
Amethyst Amethyst Increases EVA Boots
Topaz Topas Increases HP Chest Armor
Emerald Smaragd Increases DEF Leg Armor
Peridot Peridot Increases Piercing Belts

There are three qualities of jewels so far;

  • Dull Jewels (can be inlaid in items up to level 57)
  • Lucid Jewels (can be inlaid in items up to level 159)
  • Vivid Jewels (for gear above level 159)

If you've collected a few jewels already, the only thing left to do is... inlay them on your gear!

Inlay them[]

Do Shift + Right-click on an equipment piece in your inventory and you will see the UI you see below will pop up.

Weapon

Now drag an appropriate jewel into the slot, click “Inlay” and it’s done!

As you level up, you'll get better gear — wouldn't it be a shame to toss out jewels you inlaid on your older stuff?

EOS lets you easily extract jewels that have already been inlaid.
To extract a jewel, you'll need an Extraction Scroll, which you can purchase from any General Merchant NPC.
You can buy three different Extraction Scrolls, you need the scroll with the matching name like your jewel.
For example: The Dull Jewel Extraction Scroll for the Dull Jewel. If you try the scroll for Lucid Jewels, it won’t work.

Enhancement[]

Jewels can be enhanced until grade +12. 2 low-level jewels of the same type and grade can be combined to create higher jewels with better stats.
When you have two jewels of the same grade in your inventory, right-click to open the jewel enhancement window.

Enhance Jewels

Enhancement Stages[]

Every stage of the jewel looks different how you can see on the picture below.

Jewels

There are other benefits to enhancement besides the stat boost.
Depending on the grade of ruby inlaid on your weapon, you'll see various effects as follows:
From grade 4 up, you'll see different effects on your weapon—it could take on a new color, begin to glow, or send out sparks of lightning!
Seeing these effects will show you how high your jewel grade is.

Waffeleuchten

Shall we take a look at what grade 12 jewels will do to your weapon?

12erruby

Keep in mind, though, that if jewel enhancement fails, one of the two jewels will be destroyed.

To prevent the jewels from breaking there are Safeguards.
You can use these in the Enhancement Window to protect your jewels.
A Safeguard is always consumed, even if the enhancement is successful.
There are different safeguards. Normal ones and superior ones.
Normal Safeguards can be bought from the web mall, in-game shop, Magic Egg Shop, and you can get them from Magic Lamps.

Exp Transfer[]

Basics[]

  • Can be used only on gear obtained in dungeons Lv70 and that are iLv160 minimum.
  • Doesn't work on PvP gear or on PvE accessories (only PvE gear from party dungeons).
  • A commission is taken when enhancing. Price depends on the level of the gear to be optimized (see prices below).
  • When you use gear as an ingredient (instead of the AP item), it needs to be from the same category (class doesn't matter).
So to enhance a hat, you need a hat from any class that is maximum 6 level below (for example, item to enhance is iLv 160,
items used as ingredients should be iLv 154 minimum).
  • There is no limit in item level if the gear used as ingredient has a iLv superior to the gear you enhance (for example,
gear to enhance is iLv 163 and gear used as ingredient is iLv 172).
You get more Exp if the gear used as ingredient has a superior iLv.
  • Gear used as ingredient will give more experience if it is already enhanced through the system (if you enhance a hat iLv160,
you will get more experience on your gear if you use a hat iLv160 as a ingredient at stage 2 rather than the same hat iLv160 at stage 1).
  • Appraiser's Pouch cannot be used on gear with the new Optimization system
(it still works only on gear that are not part of the new optimization system).
  • Item enhancement is composed of 5 stages (stats are unlocked proportionally to the stage reached).
  • Once you reach the max level of optimization on a piece of gear, you unlock maxed purple stats (so it is not random anymore).

How to[]

Once you have a gear that can be used as part of the new gear optimization system and that you want to enhance to unlock stats on it, you need:

  • a piece of gear that you will use as a ingredient (it will be lost during the gear optimization process). Several conditions apply for this.
  • or an optimizing item that will replace gear and give a certain amount of XP to your gear.
    - Appraiser's Optimizer - 10 Exp points
    - Appraiser's Enhancer - 4 Exp points
    - Superior Appraiser's Optimizer - 300 Exp points
    - Superior Appraiser's Enhancer - 100 Exp points
  • gold (the amount of gold required varies depending on the gear level). A fee is applied per piece of gear used as ingredient (or per Appraiser's Optimizer used).

The conditions required to use gear as a ingredient for gear optimization are:

  • The item level of the gear you will use as ingredient should be maximum 6 levels lower than the gear you want to enhance
(considering that the gear you can enhance starts at item level 160, the lowest item level of gear that can be used as a ingredient is therefore 154).
Gear from season 2 between item level 154 and 159 (from party dungeons) cannot be enhanced with the optimization system but it can be used as ingredients.
  • You can use as ingredient gear that has an item level superior to the item level of the gear you want to enhance.
No restriction applies in terms of level difference (you can use a gear ingredient of item level 172 to enhance your gear item level 160).
In that case, you will obtain more experience than if you had used gear item level 160 or 163 for example).
  • You can only use gear as ingredient if it matches the type of gear you want to enhance
(if you want to enhance a belt, you need to use as ingredient belts, even from other classes
    - it doesn't matter as long as the previous conditions are respected).
  • You can use as ingredient gear that has already been enhanced before (if you use as ingredient a hat item level 160 enhanced to stage 3,
you will get more experience than if you use a hat item level 160 enhanced to stage 1).
  • You cannot use as ingredient gear that has a gem slotted in it (you have to remove it first).

To proceed with gear optimization, open your inventory (shortcut "I") and click on the new icon in the bottom left corner (sword with shiny effect).

Inventory

Then select the gear you want to enhance (gear that can be enhanced will have special icon on it,
representing the current stage level it is currently enhanced to).

Inventory2

Click on the selected gear and a new window opens:

Opti

You can see some basic information for the gear you want to enhance: name of the gear, current stage level, experience gauge,
list of ingredients, commission, added options (stats that you unlock when you get experience on the gear)...
Here, just drag and drop pieces of gear that will be used as ingredients (up to 5) or Appraiser's Optimizer/Appraiser's Enhancer.
You can combine both (for example place one piece of gear and one Appraiser's Optimizer).
The XP gain will be displayed and updated accordingly (as well as the fee you will have to pay).

Opti2Opti3Opti4

You can also notice the difference of XP that you can get based on the stage level of the ingredients.
In the example on the left, I want to enhance my Duelist's Shrewd Headgear of Bravery (item level 166 stage 1) with the same item (item level 166, stage 1).
You can see the XP that I would unlock (if I confirm) is moderate and the stats that I can unlock are low.
In the example in the middle, I want to enhance my Duelist's Shrewd Headgear of Bravery (item level 166 stage 1) with the same item but already enhanced a little (item level 166, stage 2).
You can see the XP that I would unlock (if I confirm) is high and the stats that I can unlock are much better.
And in the example on the right, I want to enhance my Duelist's Shrewd Headgear of Bravery (item level 166 stage 1) with two similar items (item level 166, stage 1).
The XP I get corresponds exactly to the amount of XP I would have obtained if I had optimized my hat twice with the same item (item level 166 stage 1).
So no synergy bonus by using more items at once.

Runes[]

In the world of EOS, runes give you an even better PvP experience by boosting your ATK or DEF.
You can get runes either from a Mysterious Rune Box, which requires the appropriate level or as a quest reward.

Rune2

If your character's level matches the usage level, you can open the box and take the rune.

Rune1

Always check to see which level item the rune can be used on.
If the item level is lower than what the rune requires, you will not be able to inlay it.
When you use a rune, the item will receive random ATK or DEF bonuses.
That means that two rune boxes with the same level might contain different runes.

Runes can be used on either weapons or accessories, such as rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.
Runes grant ATK bonuses to weapons and DEF bonuses to accessories.

To use a rune on an item, the item must be in your inventory.
When you click on a rune, a UI with slots will open,
and you can drag or click on the desired item to place it in the slot.

Rune

Runes will help you a great deal in your PvP adventures, because they directly affect your ATK and DEF stats.
However, even those who prefer PvE will find them helpful when battling monsters.

Runic Tablet[]

Basic[]

Siegelstein

The Runic tablet is an accessory adding supplementary stats to your character. The tablet can be appraised to gain better stats.
The statistics of the Runic Tablet are adjusted with every new major update (episode 1.5, episode 2.0, episode 2.5).

Siegelstein1Siegelstein2

which can be found at Ignea and Bernicia by talking to the NPC Armalinda.

Appraiser's Ink[]

Appraiser's Inks, Advanced Appraiser's Inks and Superior Appraiser's Inks can be used to modify the Runic Tablet stats and add new stats as well.
Use on a Runic Tablet to reroll its stats. It randomly increases the number of stat rolls. Be careful, all of the Runic Tablet's stats will change.

You can obtain the Appraiser's Inks via the itemmall, webmall, general merchant (300 gold), Alchemist job quests and all magic lamps.

Siegeltinte Advanced Appraiser's Inks

You can use the appraiser's Pouch on any equipments/accessories (including the Runic Tablet).

Löschsand Appraiser's Pouch

Be careful when using it.

You can obtain the Appraiser's Pouch via the itemmall, webmall, daily connection rewards, professions (Jeweler and Resource Collector) and all magic lamps.

You can't use Appraiser's Pouch on all PVE armor above and including iLv 160 (accessories are not included),

Transparent Costumes[]

Basic[]

They do not provide any visual effect, only stats.

The reason for this is to allow players to equip their best looking costumes (Pirate, Evening Dress...) while still having the stats of the Transparent Costumes.
Transparent Costumes are going to be available in 4 different tiers (with increasing stats for each tier).
The tier 1 and 2 costume parts for the Transparent Costumes will be available in the Magic Lamp Season 11 and 12.

Tier 1 was also introduced with Episode 2.5 in the Magic Egg Shop.
Tier 3 was introduced with Magic Lamp Season 13 and 14.
Method of releasing Tier 4 will be decided upon community reaction and sales.

Primal Essences[]

Primal Essence
Primal Essence is an item in game that can be farmed by players and used to buy support equipment with stats to improve your character.

System[]

In Episode 1, players had to obtain Primal Essences to buy the original support accessory (and later on, they need the original accessory + additional primal essences).
In Episode 2, Primal Essences became no longer usable.
Players need to gather Valuable Primal Essences to obtain their Support Accessory in Episode 2. Note that Valuable Primal Essences have replaced Primal Essences
(from the chests that can be purchased with PvP currency/daily quest). Additionally, Support Accessories from Episode 1 will no longer be available from the quests in-game (players who have them will keep them - new players will have to get the new ones).

Aquision[]

The main source of Valuable Primal Essences is PvP for most players. At the NPC Nathalie <Kharath Battlefield Merchant> players can get:

  • 1 Valuable Primal Essence for 500 Hero Badges
  • 1 Chest with 10 x Valuable Primal Essences for 5 Challenge Coins

The following daily quests also have 1 Valuable Primal Essence as a reward:

  • 1 x 1 Arena: [Daily] A Winner is You
  • 3 x 3 Free Arena: [Daily] Soulkeeper Muscle
  • The Hintervale: [Daily] Hintervale Headache from NPC Sperrin in Southwestern Hintervale Camp
  • Sunset Vale: [Daily] Sundown in Sunset Vale from NPC Ambreen in Southeastern Sunset Vale Camp
  • Woods of Chaos (Normal): [Daily] Disaster Prevention
  • Woods of Chaos (Hero): [Daily] Disaster Prevention (Hero)

Shop[]

VPEShop

Besides using them for the Support Equipment, you can also purchase different items with your Valuable Primal Essences.
At level 70 players speak to NPC Thaleia in Bernicia to access the Shop.

Quest[]

Thaleia

At level 70 players can take a quest at NPC Thaleia in Bernicia to get the first level of the accessory.
There are 8 quests, each requiring a specific amount of Valuable Primal Essences and the accessory acquired in the pre-quest (except the very first one).

Quest Level VPE needed Accessory Name
